Final Mission Statement (Purpose)

To promote quality and productivity through the development, teaching, and proper application of statistical thinking and tools. (We need a separate definition of statistical thinking.)

Draft "Vision" Statement

Be the world class volunteer organization devoted to statistical thinking and the proper application of quality and productivity principles.

Tentative Strategic Plan

1. Increase ability to communicate (web, search engines, email, etc.)

1. Consistently offer short courses on topics consistent with our mission at the joint statistical meetings and the Q&P research conference.

1. Consistently offer short courses in venues other than the forma meetings.

1. Make the transition to electronic proceedings.

1. To promote the proper introduction of Quality and Productivity concepts and tools in courses.

1. To promote the proper use of Quality and Productivity concepts and tools to improve courses.

1. Promote an improved exchange of ideas and problems between Q&P researchers and practitioners.

Use the leverage Q&P has with other organizations to achieve our strategic goals.
